LEADERSHIP

Providing oversight and direction, the Board ensures the Foundation’s mission and activities live up to its values and underpinning financial and social objectives. The Foundation’s Board bring a depth of experience and a diverse range of skills from finance and management through to community development, social work, research, education and training, to lead and inform our innovative work in social support and supportive care programs.

Patron

As a medical statesman and social activist, Ian Webster has worked for over thirty five years as a physician in free clinics for homeless people at the Matthew Talbot Hostel in Woolloomooloo and Sydney’s Exodus Foundation.

Samantha Connor

B. Human Movement (ACU)

Samantha brings an outstanding background in sport, recreation and fitness, including management of fitness and recreation centres and work with medical practitioners on programs for patient fitness, diet and nutritional programming.

Phil Brunner

Advisor

Phil is an experienced advisor to employers on workplace relations issues including development of management contracts, collective agreements, discrimination and disciplinary issues. He has represented parties before Fair Work Australia, the Federal Magistrates Court.

Warren Johnson

BA, GAICD

For most of his career Warren has worked at CEO level in the not for profit sector. As a chief executive he drives growth through the development of innovative, evidence-based programs and revenue streams across government grants, corporate partnerships and fundraising.

Reg Woodleigh

B. COMM., FAMI, CPM

Reg has a background in business, information systems and logistics and brings a depth of experience in corporate marketing to the non-profit sector, including time in mental health, wilderness, wildlife rescue and youth services. He has interests in social justice, health and the quest for a more equitable, humane and sustainable treatment of life on Earth.

As Marketing & Fundraising Manager Shadab leads the development of marketing promotions, such as the Foundation’s advertising, direct mail, branding and online presence. A vital part of keeping our supporters and partners up to date with our achievements in supportive-care work, her skills and earlier work at Loreal Paris and professionalism make a unique and important contribution to our communications and community profile.

Heidi Elms

Support & Training

In this multi-skilled role, Heidi brings her extensive career in health and patient support to the CanCare Navigation program. With a depth of experience in medical administration, nutritional counselling, community relations and her own personal voluntary experiences, Heidi’s skills and contributions to the growth of the service and developing new paths to support people with cancer have been critical to the success of the CanCare program.
