Volunteers Needed in the St George and Sutherland area

We are now recruiting volunteers for our CanCare program in the St George and Sutherland area.

Everyone knows someone who has had cancer and the challenges they face – challenges that are harder when you don’t have the support you need.

With one in four people living on their own, many don’t have the support they need – and after a diagnosis, its a time they need it most. As a volunteer CanCare Navigator you will be trained to provide one-to-one support to people with any type of cancer. A little help can go a long way, and the support you provide will make a big difference. There is evidence that a person with cancer who is well supported will have a higher quality of life and a better health outcome.

Why not give some of your time to someone who really needs it.

You will start by joining us for FREE training sessions to learn more about cancer, the health system, caring and support services, and your new volunteer role.

After the training you will be able to provide valuable support to a person with cancer, while being supported as part of the CanCare team.  You will have access to further training in future, as well as the peer-support and experiences of our supportive team.

As the role is flexible, you can volunteer at any time that is convenient for you and the person you are supporting. This is a rewarding role where your support, often for just a few hours a week can make a real difference.

We also welcome anyone with a non-English speaking background. For more information email [email protected], or complete the Enquiry Form below.
