Two years ago Astrid and her family received the devastating news of her breast cancer diagnosis. For every parent their children come first, and with three young children under 10, the youngest only 3, it was hard for the complex diagnosis, treatment, and the side-effects not to take centre-stage.
MEET Astrid - CanCare Patient
With her fight against the disease requiring every ounce of strength and many of her family overseas, Astrid found the support of a CanCare Navigator, who through regular contact helped to ensure that little things like house cleaning, gardening or legal advice were arranged. She also helped organise some complimentary tickets for the children to a local wildlife park and cinema. Unfortunately a few weeks before Christmas 2019, Astrid lost her long battle with the disease.
